Complianceist currently focuses on Indian compliance libraries. Supported entity types may vary by app version (e.g., Private Limited, LLP, OPC, Proprietorship). The app will show the relevant library based on your selected company type.

Is Complianceist a replacement for my CA/CS/Legal advisor?
No. Complianceist is an organization and awareness tool, not a professional advisor. For business-specific interpretation, filings, and advice, please consult a qualified CA/CS/Advocate.

Does Complianceist file returns or submit documents on my behalf?
No. Complianceist does not file returns or submit statutory forms. It helps you track what’s due and record your internal status.

How do I sign up?
Download Complianceist and sign in using supported methods (e.g., Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In). No lengthy forms.
Do I need to enter CIN / PAN / GSTIN or other sensitive company details?
No. Complianceist is designed to be privacy-friendly. Core app usage does not require:

How many compliances does Complianceist cover?
The compliance library is designed to be extensive and categorized by departments (e.g., Legal & Secretarial, Accounts & Finance, HR & Labour, Admin & Operations). The exact count may vary as the library evolves and by company type.

Where does compliance information come from?
The library is compiled using best efforts from public legal references (Acts/Rules) and structured into actionable items for tracking. Laws change frequently—so we encourage verifying critical items using official sources and/or professionals.

Are due dates always accurate?
We strive to be accurate, but due dates can vary based on:

Your company’s facts (industry, registrations, FY, transactions, etc.)
Always verify critical deadlines independently.

What if a compliance doesn’t apply to my business?
You can mark it Not Applicable. You can change it later if your situation changes.

Yes. The library and supported entity types can expand over time as the product evolves.

What is “Compliance Health”?
Compliance Health is a simple snapshot of your progress—how many applicable compliances are completed vs pending—so you can understand where you stand quickly.

What do the statuses mean?
Common statuses include:

Can I view compliances department-wise?
Yes. Categories organize compliances by departments so you can track progress area-by-area.

What is “Today’s Priority”?
It highlights the most important items to focus on next—typically based on due dates and urgency signals—so you don’t have to figure out what to do first.

Can I see an activity/history log?
Many compliance items include an Activity section showing changes such as who updated a status and when (availability can vary by version).

Compliance Details, Risk & Penalties

What does each compliance item include?
Each item typically includes:

Due pattern/frequency (one-time, monthly, quarterly, yearly)

What does “Risk & Penalties” mean?
It provides a helpful summary of the potential consequence category (e.g., late fee/fine/prosecution). This is for awareness only and can vary based on facts and changing laws—please verify with official sources/professionals.

What does “Director Liability” mean?
Some requirements may carry personal responsibility for directors under certain circumstances. Complianceist flags this for awareness, but you should verify applicability for your specific case.

Can I add notes or attachments?
If notes/attachments aren’t currently available in your version, they may be added in future updates.

Team & Delegation (Workspace)

Can I add my team members?
Yes, team collaboration is available in plans that include it (e.g., Plus). Owners can invite team members and assign departments/categories.

What roles are available?

Owner — Full workspace access, billing control, team management

Team Member — Access to assigned categories and ability to update statuses

Can team members see everything?
Typically, team members see assigned categories (depending on workspace settings/version). Owners have the highest visibility.
Will Owners be notified when team members update status?
Owners may receive team activity notifications (based on settings/permissions and plan features).

Reminders & Notifications

Does Complianceist send reminders?
Yes, reminders are available in plans that include them. Common reminder timing includes:

Are reminders guaranteed to be delivered?
No. Reminder delivery depends on device/OS settings, notification permissions, network, and system restrictions. Reminders are a convenience feature—you remain responsible for statutory compliance.

How do I enable/disable notifications?
You can manage notification permissions in your device settings, and in-app settings where available.

Is Complianceist free?
Complianceist can offer a free tier with optional paid plans for features like reminders, team delegation, and premium features.
How are payments processed?
Payments are processed by Apple App Store / Google Play Store. Complianceist does not store your full card/payment details.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel via your App Store / Play Store subscription settings. Platform policies control renewal/cancellation.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds (if any) are governed by Apple/Google policies. Complianceist does not issue refunds directly.
Privacy & Security

What data do you collect?
We collect only what’s needed to provide and improve the Services, such as:

Account profile: name, email, profile photo (from sign-in provider)

Workspace info: role, team invites, assignments

Tracking data: statuses, reminders settings

Device/technical data and diagnostics (performance, crash reporting)

What data do you NOT collect?
We do not collect core sensitive business identifiers and financial details such as:
CIN, PAN, GSTIN, bank details, director Aadhaar/PAN, turnover, invoices, salary data, client/customer lists.
Do you sell personal information?
No.

Where is data stored?
Data is stored using secure infrastructure operated by service providers (e.g., Google Cloud). Data may be processed in India and/or other countries depending on infrastructure location.

How is my data protected?
We use reasonable safeguards such as encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No system is 100% secure.

Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. You can request deletion; we take reasonable steps to delete/anonymize data unless retention is required by law.

Is Complianceist responsible for missed deadlines or penalties?
No. You remain responsible for meeting statutory deadlines. Complianceist is an organization tool, not a filing service.
Are compliances guaranteed correct and always up to date?
We strive for accuracy, but laws change and applicability varies. Always verify critical obligations using official sources/professionals.
Does “Completed” mean I’m legally compliant?
No. “Completed” is your internal tracking status in the app and does not confirm filing, acceptance, or legal compliance.
Technical & Troubleshooting

Which devices are supported?
Complianceist is available on iOS and Android (device compatibility may vary by OS version).

The app isn’t syncing—what should I do?
Check internet, update the app, re-login, and try again. If it persists, email support with device + account details.
I found an error in a compliance item—how do I report it?
