GDPR User Rights

This page explains the rights available to users in the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK) under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR.

PPLST Tech Private Limited (“we,” “our,” “us”) is committed to giving you full control over your personal data when using ProTalkie.

 

1. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you live in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

1.1 Right to Access (Article 15)

You may request:

  • Confirmation of whether we process your personal data

  • A copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • Information about how your data is used, stored, and shared

1.2 Right to Rectification (Article 16)

You may request correction of:

  • Incorrect personal information

  • Incomplete information

Examples:
Updating your name, profile details, or phone number.

1.3 Right to Erasure (“Right to Be Forgotten”) (Article 17)

You can request deletion of your personal data in these circumstances:

  • Your data is no longer needed

  • You withdraw consent

  • You object to processing

  • Data was unlawfully processed

When you delete your ProTalkie account, all your personal data, messages, and media are permanently deleted within 30 days.

1.4 Right to Restrict Processing (Article 18)

You may request that we temporarily limit how your data is processed, such as:

  • When verifying accuracy

  • When you object but the request is under review

  • When processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction over deletion

1.5 Right to Data Portability (Article 20)

You may request certain personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format so you can transfer it to another service.

Examples:

  • Phone number

  • Account information

  • Basic profile details

Encrypted messages cannot be ported, as we cannot decrypt them.

1.6 Right to Object (Article 21)

You may object to:

  • The use of your data for legitimate interest purposes

  • Any type of profiling (ProTalkie does not use profiling)

Upon objection, we will stop processing unless we have compelling legal grounds.

1.7 Right to Withdraw Consent (Article 7)

If processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Examples:

  • Turning off contact sync

  • Revoking permissions in device settings

  • Disabling notifications

This does not affect data processed before consent withdrawal.

1.8 Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making (Article 22)

ProTalkie does not use algorithms that make decisions affecting you without human involvement.

2. How to Exercise Your GDPR Rights

You can submit a GDPR request by contacting us:

We may need to verify your identity for security purposes. We typically respond within 30 days, as required by GDPR.

3. Our Legal Bases for Processing (Article 6)

We process your data under the following lawful bases:

We only use consent when legally required.

4. International Data Transfers (Articles 44–49)

Because our services use:

  • Firebase (US)

  • AWS (Asia-South)

Your data may be transferred outside the EU/UK.

We rely on:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

  • Additional security measures

  • Data minimization

  • End-to-end encryption for message content

5. Your Right to Lodge a Complaint

You may file a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority (DPA) if you believe your rights were violated.
